Request for Qualifications for Material Testing Services
The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT is providing testing and quality control
services for various materials including but not limited to concrete, grout, asphalt, aggregate and earth. Typical tasks may include testing for concrete qualities (air content, slump, etc.), concrete compressive strength, maximum density and optimum moisture content, in place density testing, hot mix asphalt batch plant inspection, welding inspections and ultrasonic testing, and other quality control tasks. Specific testing and quality control tasks and laboratory qualifications shall comply with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction, the WSDOT Construction Manual and the WSDOT Local Agency Guidelines (LAG Manual). Consultant firms with expertise with materials in addition to those specified herein are encourages to include this information in their statement of qualifications.
All work and deliverables shall be in accordance with all current and applicable local, State and Federal requirements and shall comply with the department’s standards and schedules.
Our department anticipates contracting with one (1) or more CONSULTANTs for materials testing services on a variety of public works based projects. The total contract amount for each consultant will range from $100,000 to $200,000 and will include multiple task orders. The duration of the contract is estimated to be through the end of 2022.
